PROJECT: very amazing title here
GENRE:
the idea!!:
word vomit about your idea here! it does not have to be neat. using my own book for an example, my idea was literally just, someone is stuck in a rotting terrarium, and they have to find a way out.
the bad, basic starting pitch:
i start all my stories with pitches, even when i’m missing 95% of what makes up the story. so, using the mossheart’s promise as an example, the moment i got the terrarium idea, i knew i wanted the story to be about them getting out of the terriarium. “person trapped in a terrarium finds a way out” isn’t the greatest pitch, but it’s a place to start!
general aesthetic:
i’m a very visual writer, so i like to have this in front of me, and i like to work on it up front.
for mossheart, my brainstorming looked something like this:
dark, but whimsical. a village of fairies with giant, glowing moths that float overhead, but their people are starving. mushrooms that pulse different pastel colors, but the scent of rot always fills the air. there is a sense of beauty fading, of timing running out. here is a world that has overstayed its welcome.
hard goals:
small dreams
squishy goals:
big dreams
